Joanna made her first fish at 7 years old, crafted out of clay from the river bank - which promptly turned back to mud when it rained. However, the seed was sown and Joanna’s fascination with ceramics was born. She is self taught but has attended various courses to aid her learning and is influenced by all thing fishy – the fact that The Celts believed that fish held mystical powers and that they pre-date even the cross as a Christian symbol for Christ. Joanna lives and works in Cornwall.
