David Brims MA FRPS
|
David gained a Master of Arts Degree at DeMontfort University Leicester and was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal Photographic Society a year later.
As a watercolourist and photographer he now combine these skills in photomontage. He prints with pigment inks onto watercolour paper, and the result is very like a watercolour painting. These Giclée prints marry the aesthetic appeal of the finest print making with the sophistication of digital technology. Since the advent of the Giclée process, technological advances have substantially increased both print quality and longevity - now 80 to 120 years.
David currently prefers to use Somerset Velvet art paper. It is mould made paper, which is the closest thing to a hand made paper that is machine produced.
David has given many art exhibitions, in London, the South of England and shown work in the USA. The Arts Council of Great Britain has supported his exhibition work.
He produces prints of local interest for sale at the Hiscock Gallery. For other work see www.davidbrims.com.
