Alison was born in Welwyn Garden City in 1962. Alison Gardiner originally trained as a textile designer at West Surrey College of Art & Design and is now a well known illustrator whose work includes children's books, magazines, textiles and china. Whilst still at college she had her first range of greetings cards published, which were selected for The Design Council gift buyers guide. Her work has appeared in exhibitions including Wigmore Hall and Aldeburgh. Lately her work has focused on illustrating buildings and the landscape. This has led her to design a range of products for The National Trust and The Royal Collection. She now lives and works on Southsea with her husband, Alastair and son, Edward.
