Paint

As a major stockist of artist paints, we naturally have a large selection of oil, acrylic, watercolour and gouache paints to choose from in both Artist or Student quality. Paints are available in single tubes, pans and half pans as well as complete sets. Our two main suppliers of paint are Winsor and Newton and Daler Rowney both known world wide for their quality, expertise and range

WatercoloursOilsFabic Paint

Watercolour
Artist watercolour - 5ml tubes, pans, half pans and sets
With a reputation of supreme quality, the Artist Watercolours from Winsor and Newton are made from the finest pigments available in the highest concentrations possible, consistent with good handling qualities. There are 91 colours in pans and half pans and 90 colours in 5ml tubes

Student Watercolour - 8ml tubes, pans, half pans and sets
A more economical range of watercolour paints is the Cotman range by Winsor and Newton and Aquafine* by Daler Rowney. In both ranges, the costly pigments are replaced with less expensive alternatives but both still have high performance colours producing good transparency with excellent tinting strength and good working properties.
* Aquafine stocked in sets only.

Designer Gouache - 14ml tubes
A range of brilliant opaque, water soluble watercolours from Winsor & Newton. Made by selecting the best pigments, highest grade of gums and wetting agents and designed to produce colour with an even flow giving exceptional tinting strength whilst providing a matt finish. This product is far superior to ordinary gouache and can be used with brush, airbrush or ruling pen on most types of paper and board. The paints are water soluble and can therefore be mixed with other watercolours for varying opacity and transparency.

Oil
Artist Oil Colour - 21ml Tubes and sets
Each tube of Winsor and Newton Artist Oil Colour owes its reputation for quality to the careful selection of the finest pigments.

Student Oil Colour - 38ml tubes and sets
The Georgian Oil Colour range from Daler Rowney offers high performance colours at an economical price.

Griffin Alkyd - 37ml tubes and sets
An excellent fast drying oil colour manufactured from pigments suspended in oil modified alkyd resin and solvent. The speedy drying time allows a painting to be completed in one session whilst the clarity of the alkyd resin allows the full brightness of the pigment to show when the colour is dry. Compatible with conventional oils, Griffin Alkyd has good flow properties and dries to a hard durable film. The unique luminosity of the paint makes them ideal to use for glazing and Griffin Alkyd is also recommended for use on a variety of porous surfaces.

Acrylic
Artist Acrylic (Cryla) - 75ml Tubes, sets
Artist Acrylic (Liquitex) - 59ml Tubes, 59ml pots and sets
Daler Rowney’s Cryla selection offers high quality paints for the serious artist, whilst Winsor and Newton top of the range Liquitex paint range gives high performance but also has a price tag to match.

Glass & Ceramic Paint
Pebeo produce a fantastic range of glass and ceramic paints:
Pebeo Vitrail is solvent based, air-drying and is fine for use on glass, plastic and metal.
Pebeo Vitrea is water based and perfect for glass painting.
Pebeo Porcelaine is water based and suitable for china, glass, ceramic and metal.

Both Vitrea and Porcelaine need to be oven-baked to guarantee permanence and to become dishwasher safe.

Fabric Paint
Pebeo produce two fabric paints: Pebeo Setasilk and Pebeo Setacolor. Both need heat in order to fix to the fabric (iron fixing is recommended). Setasilk is suitable, as the names suggests, for use on silk and Setacolor, is more versatile and can be used on a variety of fabrics.

Another range of fabric paints is Tulip. This is a great, versatile range of fabric paints in squeezable tubes. Each tube has a nozzle for easy application and there are 9 different types of finishes and a whole host of colours to choose from. Easy to use, these paints are especially designed for beginners and children to get creative. Once dry, Tulip can be machine washed at 60 degrees and can also be used on surfaces other than fabric, such as wood, paper and plastic.
